There's the old saying "Old habits die hard" but I honestly believe this was referring to toxic habits. Toxic habits, big and small can completely disrupt your mood for the day, and we know how that can take a toll. Taking the time to understand the habits in your daily life that is holding you back and then replacing them with healthy new habits does take time. Once your new habits take over you would be amazed how relieved you are that you finally did it. To clarify I will tell two of my toxic habits then the healthy habits I replaced them with.
Toxic habit: Laying in bed and eating at night time right before bed. This habit caused me to be bloated and not happy about the way I looked.
Healthy habit: I started to eat dinner at a certain time sitting or standing in the kitchen giving my body time to digest my food and not sit in my stomach overnight.
Toxic habit: Waking up late and rushing my mornings. This caused me to be in a bad mood and feel unhinged for the day.
Healthy habit: I started to go to bed early this way I could wake up an hour early and take my time starting my day.
I took my time replacing my old habits. By changing one or two habits at a time and once they stuck with me I would continue the next one.
Please remember we do not strive for perfection we search for balance so don't beat yourself up. Everyone's lifestyle is different so people will get to this point at different times. Trying is always better than doing nothing at all.
