Excuses

Knowing the differnce between a truth or an excuse

Unfortunately, excuses have become so common that it is hard to tell whether they are excuses or truths. The definition of an excuse is a statement you give to make the other party accept your bad behavior instead of providing an opinion or truth. Another problem is allowing this person to feed you an excuse aiding a behavior that makes you feel uncomfortable.

I bring this up because I was lucky enough to learn early in life from an old boss of mine to stop giving excuses and be honest. I was always late to work and one day he stopped me and said “ You can keep that excuse you're about to give me. You can either show up on time or don’t come at all. I run a business and when you are late it's disrespectful to my business.” I don’t know why but when he said that to me I took it to heart and told myself from now on I would learn to stop giving excuses and be more honest. Now I say I’m either early or late but never on time. From there I learned that other people's time is just as important as mine.

Morel of the story is excuses are just a crutch. If you really care you will do something about it. Also, stop allowing people to feed you excuses and demand the truth. You deserve nothing less.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope this message enhances your lifestyle. Be sure to check out my book “Cleanse” available on Amazon.com.
